Cathryn is finishing a PhD entitled 'Transitive Birds: Non-mammalian animals, late modernist aesthetics, and Transition (1927--1938)' which she aims to publish in 2012. She is also preparing a second research project, provisionally entitled 'Evolution and Late Modernism: Literature and Biology in the post-Darwinian Age', addressing the history of evolutionary discourses and eugenics from 1875-1953, the 'eclipse of Darwinism', in relation to Anglo-American literary culture and discourse networks.

She also co-organizes the Djuna Barnes Research Seminar. The first International Djuna Barnes Conference is scheduled for 21-22 September 2012.
