About
I studied for my BA in History and Archaeology at the University of Athens, and I graduated in 1995. I spent one term as a visiting student in Padova (Erasmus). I spent most of time as an undergraduate engaged in student politics as a leftist and anti-nationalist activist. I then came to London to do an MA in Ancient History in UCL, where I graduated in 1996. I went to Oxford in 1997 for my DPhil, and I graduated in 2002. My thesis was initially supervised by Simon Hornblower and then by Nicholas Purcell. I was incredibly lucky to be appointed at Birkbeck as a lecturer the day after my DPhil viva, in 2002. I have been at Birkbeck ever since.
