Fiona Johnstone is an MPhil/ PhD student in the History of Art Department at Birkbeck, University of London. Her thesis examines the relationship between art and visual culture produced in the context of the AIDS crisis, and the rise of interest in 'the body' as a critical concept in theoretical writing of the same period.
