About
I am primarily interested in researching the legal and theoretical position of the Palestinian Diaspora in their unique position as being one of the largest refugee groups in the world, yet with a distinctly different treatment than that provided by the modern corpus of international refugee law. Through this comparative research, I am looking at the genealogy of the exceptionalism faced by the Palestinian Diaspora in the context of modern international relations, and will be using this framework to assess the nature of international law and the concept of the state.
I am particularly guided by the work of Giorgio Agamben and his theory on states of exception, as well as Foucault's metaphysics of power and Arendt's theory of violence.
